I represented a Claimant who slipped on water in a supermarket, causing her to fall forward and landing heavily on her knee. As a result, she suffered a soft tissue injury to her knee. There was a presence of pre-existing degeneration in her knee and therefore the accident had caused an exacerbation of a pre-existing condition for a finite period of time.
Liability was admitted and medical evidence was obtained, so that a definite period of time could be given, in relation to the exacerbation caused.
The claim settled without the need to issue proceedings in the sum of £4,770.00 and consisted of compensation for the injuries suffered.
