Specialist personal injury and mortgage mis-selling compensation firm, Aequitas Legal based in Manchester celebrate their 10-year anniversary this month since the law firm was establish on 3rd August 2009. During that time, the firm has recovered £13.3million in damages for people.
The firm is highly regarded as one of the most successful legal practices for customer service, having won a number of regional and national awards as well as recently being voted Number 1 firm out of over 70 firms in the region for customer service following an independent survey by a mystery shopper company.
The firm was initially set up by Sucheet Amin, a personal injury solicitor who wanted to focus on two specific elements as part of his Vision – customer service and employee development. Sucheet’s view was that if customers were treated the right way with empathy and support, they would value the relationship with the firm’s employee base. In turn, the employees would have personal investment in their career path and development to help serve the firm’s client base with exceptional service levels.
Although at the outset, the firm specialised in personal injury claims, over the years it has managed to attract high value/seriously injured claimants and has a number of multi-million-pound cases. More recently, the firm has broadened its services into mortgage mis-selling, specifically where people took interest only mortgages without proper advice or assessment by their brokers.
The firm has always had a passion, led by Sucheet to support the average person’s fight against large insurance and broker companies for rightful compensation. Sucheet says, ‘the resources of insurance companies and broker organisations is massive. They have deep pockets and can afford to employ smart lawyers to fight their corner. The average individual does not have the money to match them but this is where we step in to provide them with access to sound legal representation and advice to give them the best chance of winning the ‘David v Goliath’ battle.’
Sucheet as Managing Partner is supported by Matthew Trusch and Carl Davies both of whom are Partners in the firm. Matthew has been with the firm as a newly qualified solicitor since December 2009 and worked his way up to Partner in 2016. Carl has extensive experience in high value/complex personal injury claims and made Partner in 2018. They are reinforced by Rachel Bird, Operations Manager and together make an experienced leadership team.
Sucheet added, ‘the last 10 years have passed by in a flash but we have achieved so much in that time. As a firm, we have become highly respected in our field and that has been recognised by the number of awards and accreditations we have achieved. I am truly excited about the next 10 years as we aim to better our Silver Investors In People status in the coming year and consider expanding our services even further. The firm’s success is a result of all the people that have worked for our clients, present and past, not to mention a number of advisers and mentors acting as guides along the way. I thank each and every one of them for their contribution over the years.’
