Liposuction is also known as liposculpture or suction assisted lipectomy is used by people to remove fat in areas of the body. Areas include; hips, stomach, arms and thighs.
During a liposuction procedure a small incision is made in the skin and a small, narrow metal tube is inserted to vacuum out fatty deposits.
Swelling after liposuction can take up to 6 months to settle down and to see the full benefit of the procedure. Liposuction patients normally go home the same day unless they are having several areas treated.
Experienced surgeons that specialise in liposuction should be familiar with the procedure and would hopefully help to minimize any risks following the surgery. Unfortunately, liposuction patients may still encounter problems post-surgery.
Cosmetic surgeons have a duty of care to you before, during and after the surgery to ensure that the procedure is undertaken safely and with as little risk as possible.
We understand that it can be extremely difficult to talk about complications with your liposuction and can be unnerving not knowing what to do next. We have trained specialist Solicitors that can provide you with support and speak the cosmetic surgery company on your behalf.
