Jane Wood – Occupiers Liability

Jane suffered an unexpected injury whilst on a routine visit to the dentist. Whilst in the dentist’s chair, another dentist tripped on a wire causing the hygienist treating Jane to push the dental instruments into her gum and cheek.

After the incident, Jane said she felt like she had been dealt with unfairly and was made to feel like her injury wasn’t important. So, she got in touch with Aequitas Legal as she didn’t want to the same to happen to others. Jane said Aequitas Legal made her feel like the case was important to them as it was to her.

Aequitas Legal kept in contact with Jane on regular basis throughout her case, and Jane was able to email or call anytime she had any questions or wanted an update on her case. “Nick was very prompt in getting in touch and replying to my emails”. Jane said she felt like she was informed all the way through the case. “I’m very grateful to Aequitas Legal for outstanding customer service”.

Sophie Fallon – Occupiers Liability/Beauty Negligence

Beauty isn’t pain – Aequitas Legal helps Sophie to recover after an unexpected twist to her wedding day

Sophie paid a visit to her usual hairdresser for a hair colouring treatment just before her wedding day.

However, Sophie soon realised that the bleach from the colour had been mixed together wrong by the hairdresser doing her hair, as the colour on her head started to tingle and a potent smell started to fill the salon.

When Sophie got home that night, she inspected her head as it was tender, and found that it was bleeding. This prompted Sophie to visit A & E; the Doctor at A & E diagnosed Sophie with chemical burns to the head.

After the accident, Sophie said she felt traumatised and worried that the injury would affect her wedding and her being able to wear her veil if hair loss occurred.

Sophie ended up frustrated as she had to make alternative arrangements with a different hairdresser for her bridal party for her wedding day. She spent every day on her honeymoon wearing a hat as her hair could not be exposed to the sun.

After an attempt to speak to the Salon Manager about the burns on her head, Sophie decided she would like to pursue a claim and got in contact with Aequitas Legal.

Nick Harrison (Senior Associate Solicitor at Aequitas Legal) fought Sophie’s case and how discussed with the other side how the chemical burns had greatly affected Sophie’s wedding and honeymoon and a settlement of £10,000 was reached.  Sophie said that the service from Aequitas Legal was exceptional and everything was handled brilliantly. “The level of detail that Nick went into to eventually resolve the claim out of court for a maximum result was great”.
